South Coast AQMD Expands Popular GO ZERO Program with $60 Million in New Funding

Multifamily rebates will range from $500-$1,000 per unit, with a $300,000 cap per property. New tiers will also support smaller systems such as mini-split and window heat pumps, making electrification more accessible for smaller homes and apartments.

On Friday, October 2nd, 2026, South Coast AQMD’s Governing Board approved $60.2 million in additional funding to expand the popular GO ZERO Incentive Program, which provides rebates for single-family homeowners, multifamily property owners, and small businesses to transition from conventional gas or propane systems to high-efficiency, zero-emission heat pump space and water heating technologies.

Phase 2 will provide more funding for both single-family and multifamily rebates, add solar water heating as a qualifying technology, offer new rebate tiers for smaller heat pump systems, and update multifamily reservation requirements.
